Fer realz, I used to carry a compact 1911. After too many failure-to-fire for riding the thumb safety (lifting the meat of my hand off the grip safety) I decided to do the unthinkable and go Glock. Now I have a G23 and G22, both converted to 9mm, and both 100% reliable after sorting out the conversion. I mostly carry the G22, having chopped the grip to take G19 mags. I also ruined it further by getting rid of finger humps, thumb humps, notching sides of grip to rip out mags, and stippling. Why I carry such a turd when ai own a Davis Double-DD is a fair question. I don't have a satisfactory answer. What can I say. The derringer is a safe queen.

Manual labor work days (more of them than not) SIG 2022 TACOPS in 40 Smith on strong side with a second in briefcase with Osprey suppressor as backup. Wear three 12 round mags weak side loaded with Hornady Critical Duty. The suppressed briefcase 2022 has five spare mags in fast access velcro side pouch.

Non manual work days (seeing clients, doctors, church, family, etc) 45 acp SIG 1911 Target from SIG Custom Shop strong side with tritium front sight, 325 pound trigger, ambi safety and more with SIG 1911 Double Nickle Compact as backup in small of back. Have two ten round McCormick ten round mags weak side. Use 185 Grain Hornady Critical Defense in both. If carry briefcase drop a SIG 1911 TACOPS TB with Osprey can in bottom.

No matter what's up, handguns only job is to stop fight fast or get me to my rifle. Keep long gun in truck, strategically placed around home and work. If not quite so cumbersome my SIG P220 with red dot, cowitnessed iron sights in 10mm would likely be a contender for primary carry. When in nostalgic mood been known to carry a Hi Power with Hornady Critical Defense just for variety. Always keep a wheel gun under seat of all trucks out of habit.

Glock 17 Gen 4 with 2 spare mags and a NAA Sidewinder in .22WM with holstergrip.

Ammo for the Glock is Ruger ARX or SIG V-Crown 124gr. JHP.

I carry a 17 because LE in my area carries 17 for most part, so if ever the need arises, I can use their ammo and mags.

Some of you guys must be bigger then a NFL center to conceal some of the weapons and gear being mentioned, ha!
I, being 70", 180lb and "older", have to settle on a KelTec 380 in a front pocket holster (some sort of sticky synthetic pliable material). Has worked for 15 years or so.

I carry my S&W Mod 64 in my motorcycle jacket in the winter and my S&W 3913 in my vest during the summer. I also have a Remington 41 rimfire derringer, but is mostly a safe queen.

These are my EDCs, when it’s snake season(March-November) and/or can open carry, I use the 686 loaded with 1 round of snake shot and 5 rounds of Buffalo Bore 180gr .357 hollowpoints cranking at 1500fps. When I’m gonna be getting dirty or have to conceal I use the .357 SIG P229 with 124gr Underwood JHPs running at 1475fps B3127002-98FE-475E-878C-397E82322273.jpeg
