I've stepped outa' my 1911 comfort zone lately and tried something new.

A while back (Arkansas for I don't remember 'zackly when) I bought a Smith Shield plus and have run the pizz out of it with no malfunctions of any kind using 124 grain FMJ and 124 grain Federal HST ammo, It's trustworthy imo.

It feels comfortable to me and at self defense range I can hit what I'm aiming at. 14 rounds is enough to give me time to haul my decrepit carcass out of the area.

It carries nice in a pancake style OWB holster and weighs considerably less than my beloved lightweight .38 super Commander and is easier to conceal under a T shirt so I've been carrying it fairly often the last week or so.

The only thing I might change on it would be a switch to some high visibility True Glo type sights.

I haven't had a "pocket" gun since about 1975; which was a Mauser Hsc in .380 . Good for a belly gun, not much anything else. Then a Cobra, that went wonky.Traded up for the '66 and never looked back.
Had a hankering for a s.s. big bore ta go along w/it and went thru an ODI Viking, a blue '70 series NM .45, a S&W 645 pos and settled on the Delta 10mm.
12 or so yr back, I came upon a Colt Commander .45 at a price that, well, I couldn't get my wad out fast enough!
While lotsa pieces are smaller and lighter, I'll stick with what I know and have confidence in
Definitely not a pocket rocket; but not all that much to tote or hide. 'Sides.....always bring enough gun! ;

10mm? Do you have anything against 357mm?

Wow some serious firepower out there
I’m carrying a Glock 84. Yeah an 84
That’s a 42 right side stuck in waistband
And a 42 in left back pocket
I’m old and skinny deal with it
I don’t get around much anymore anyway

I’m not a .380 guy myself but owned an early Glock 42 and liked shooting it. A close friend of mine carries one everyday.
