Okay, my turn for a question; who is everybody using for a rear QD swivel cup in place of the fixed sling swivel?
Also, I happened to see several 20” barrels (new), listed on GB. I can’t swing one right now, but if you’re looking for one, I don’t see them often…
Corvus but I believe Midwest Industries offers one as well.

Another upgrade I can recommend is Talon Grips rubberized grips
for the front and main pistol grips.

It makes the AUG much more secure with wet or sweaty or oily hands.

I like the Manta 1.25" which has a pocket for a tape switch for a light.

Being made in small town central OH doesn't hurt either.

Yeah, so for the rear, it looks like Corvus is it. Except for some place over in England.
Okay, got a reply back from the outfit overseas, "Clawgear". They don't ship outside of the EU. Bummer... Since Midwest doesn't make their rear swivel, looks like Corvus is THE game for that... And Steyr is "Out of Stock" on those...

Put some money in the new AUG recently. Vortex 1-4 LPVO, Burris quick release cantilever mount, Steyr trigger springs, stock sling, stock cleaning kit, Manticore brass buster and charging handle. Gotta say my favorite upgrade is the Switchback charging handle. I don't need an HK91 anymore 😆 since it satisfies that urge. The mount is kind of annoying since the QD handles are so large they kind of get in the way and don't make the most positive attachment. I think I'll just use high scope rings or a Leupold mount and move the Burris mount to an AKM or AR pattern rifle.

I ordered some Troy M1 offset iron sights to use with a more permanent mounting solution. Hoping the brass buster keeps the hot biopsy tubes out of my face when using them. It does the job when the AUG is upright so far

Put these Troy offset battle sights on and gotta say, they work real nice at 15y. Gonna push farther out with them at the outdoor range. Something about offsetting the AUG makes follow ups real fast, some Steyr magic going on but I’ll take it.

The Manticore brass buster does a good job at keeping all brass out of your face and vision but I don’t like how it slides around when not in use. I may just try that Corvus deflector. Keeps the profile down too. Right now my AUG is looking a bit too tacticool, need to reel it in a bit. Definitely going for scope rings now that I know the offsets work. This is a very cool gun, very fun and gratifying; glad I went for it. Now I just want another for parts/backup.

If I had the factory scope, I'd put small irons on top but for those without this is working so far. I put Vortex extra high (1.54") rings on it already.
I think the Magpul offsets will give you a lower profile for mounting a flashlight or RMR on the 45 degree rail. I only went for the Troy because they seemed tougher

Field expedient for a night shoot. Sorry I didn't have any black tie wraps but I did trim the tails off of them. The Surefire light worked out real well. That is the Manticore scope mount and I love it View attachment 297904
Reminds me of the Crocodile Dundee scene. “That’s not a light…” I like that Manticore mount too. Hope they make one with a bit of rail segment at some point.

That's the way to do it.

I've got a little Streamlight TLR-1 on mine.
