Wore out my para nose cutters. Need to buy replacements but not exactly sure what they are or how to reorder (my experience is pretty much limited to home depot drill bits ).
I can read the one - "19/32 x 1/8 1812 PAT HSS". Googled it but not getting hits that I can make sense of.
Sooooo
- What is the name/type of cutter that I need to reorder?
- Where do I get one ?
Thanks!

I didn't make the cutters I just got them from this outfit. I don't remember the exact diameter. Seems like the 19/32 one. I strongly suggest trying whatever you can to slow that drill down. Yeah breaking through the small ridge might require high speed but once you are through and the cutter is sitting on flat metal try to slow it down and when you are at high speed to break through that ridge, keep it xtra wet with H20 soluble coolant preferably.

I'll take it - burned out my custom made ones on DSA's over-hardened receivers. Not even going to them anymore, it's stupid. Those clowns can't get anything right.
Hi Mark. Its Frank. I put this post up seeing as you said you couldn't do my 2 para nose cuts and returned my 2 kits.
Ok if I take this from flypaper? I can then do the cuts and send the kits back to you. Along with the cutter...

Thanks. Am I at "high speed" with my Mikita variable hand drill?

Sure, if you want to try - I did probably 70 IMBELs with the same cutter and then fried two cutters trying to do one post 2019 DSA. Thinking it may have been a fluke, I tried yours and burned out my last one.

High Speed Steel is a term that dates from 1868, when "high speed" was a lot slower.

I think what MM is referring to is the two triangular corners. I use the edge of a dremel cut-off wheel to break those two corners, because they will try to break the tips of the cutter .
