I am looking for help and or info on building my next M1A. I had planned to rebarrel my Springfield SOCOM 16 w/ my Wolf MMW fluted 18 1.2" barrel.
Long story cut short, my friend wants the SOCOM as is. I have Century Imbel receivers as well as the modified Inch cut UE58 Imbel receiver from Gunplumber as trade for a M1A receiver, bolt and help.
Please let me know if you know anyone who can help w/ sourcing the receiver and bolt as well as installing and headspacing my barrel to it.
Hickman rifles in Colorado Springs closed down so my preferred source is no longer an asset available to me. I thought about reaching out to Tony Ben and or Ironworker.
Sincerely. Sparkeyboaz

I want to acquire a good usable Springfield Armory M1A receiver and bolt that I can have the Wolf Medium Weight Modified, fluted barrel installed and headspaced to.

Thank you for the link and info.
I've beat this idea of building an M1A w/ the Wolf MMW, fluted barrel around so long that I've about given up on piecing it together.
Today I found an M1A from 1981 that has a NM or Super Match barrel on it. I can't tell from the pics and the seller didn't specify. It is fat under the upper handguard for at least 4 or more inches. Either way I bought it! It wasn't cheap but the serial number hooked me again!
My first M1A that is a Super Match is s/n
011958.
The one I found today is S/N 021958! It's 10,000 after my first one. I am waiting to hear from Springfield Armory about the history on the new one. If they assembled it I will keep it as a factory rifle. My first one was sold as a receiver in 1979 and built as a Super Match and glass bedded.
Either way, looks like I will be listing the Wolf MMW, fluted barrel in the market place soon.
Thanks again!

Fulton is a very good option.
I have an M1A and a USGI parts kit and Criterion barrel on a Fulton receiver. Both are great, but the Fulton receiver is a step above. I'd highly recommend one.

OP, I had Accuracy Speaks out of Mesa, AZ build mine. They know what they're doing with M14s. Mine gets 1.25 with Prvi 155 and iron sights.:)

Thank all of you for your responses and suggestions. I’ve been searching through Fultons website and I really like what I see.
I did purchase a NOS TRW M14 bolt complete so I have just about everything but the receiver for a build. Fultons prices seem fair and have alot of years experience building. The plus side is they say I can supply my own barrel and parts and they will install, headspace etc for a reasonable price!
I've tried to get a response out of Springfield Armory about pricing etc and have not received any input at all.
Fulton seems to be the way to go.

I just ordered a receiver from Fulton.
$624.95 shipped for their standard receiver part # FA-M-082
They have a limited quantity available but are on sale @ $75 off.
I figured when I am ready to get this done, I'll send my parts and receiver to Fulton and let them sort it out!
Thanks again!

Tank's Rifle Shop

Highly recommended. I've know Jon Tank since 1981, when we worked together at the Fort Hood, Texas, Advanced Marksmanship Unit. He's building an M1A for me even as we speak.
I'm glad to see he's still in business. I second that emotion for Tank's Rifle Shop, Fremont NE. Anybody in that area ought to seek him out for M-14 clone work as well as other firearms. I don't think he works on FALs though. I would send all my FAL stuff to Gunplumber anyway.
