M1 Super 90 Click - Bang

I picked up a used Benelli M1 Super 90 a while back to keep my HK/Benelli M1 Super 90 company and because my twin daughters have taken up trap. Except for wood vs plastic stocks, the guns are identical. When I bought the shotgun I bought Wolf replacement springs for both. Both get cleaned every time after use. Both are using the same ammo. There's no problems with either gun cycling.

The HK/M1 runs flawlessly, the used one has these click/bang episodes where there's a noticeable (split second) amount of time that passes between when the hammer is triggered and when the round goes off, it's enough to through the game off with trap. Breaking down the bolt and cleaning/lubricating everything seems to make the problem go away for a while.

I'm thinking about soaking the chamber end of the barrel in solvent in and then scrubbing out the recess where the bolt locks with the barrel. I'm also thing about buying a used bolt assembly and trying that as they're cheaper than a new barrel.

Already had the discussion with by daughter about field shotguns vs range guns like a Citori but she really likes that M1.

Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?
