I know they're often not worth a lot due to severe abuse. I found one with INLAND marked through which has the small bomb on the barrel. Has a Springfield Armory stock also.

Any information would be welcome.

I bought a couple of these when they first came out eons ago, and other than stocks being firewood quality, both ran perfectly fine after the action springs replaced.

Barrels were OK, mixed parts of course.

Its been my wife's rifle of choice since they arrived here.

What they asking for one today????

I bought one of the B/S marked Garands,,,,and have never touched/worked on it, looks like pure shit, shoots point of aim, runs perfectly fine.

They were hit or miss,,,shoot it if you can...

Mine had a cracked dovetail on the back site. This dovetail is machined into the re inversion. Had a sorrysmith silver Sauder
The back site in place. It needed full adjustment to the right to get on paper at 100 yards.
Fn auto correct!
Traded it for 2 Yugoslavia skss in cosmoline.
Carbine had also had a crap barrel.
Beware OF ANY BLUESKY marked gun.

I bought one from a customer who couldn't pay off his shop bill. Gave him what he wanted for it, and it was a good, reliable shooter. The missus and I both liked it, but she liked shooting the M-1A better for the "power" it had. I think I get $400.00 for it and the mags with a can of ammo and bandos in around '92 I think.

Bought one during the era of importation (early 90's?). It was rough (well worn) but functioned fine and shot to the sights. Carried it as a patrol rifle for a while. Never fought with it, but did kill two deer and two feral goats. One shot apiece with 110 grain softpoints at 20-100 yards, none of the four moved out of their tracks.

I like the look of it, but after reading what I have here and elsewhere I'll pass on it. He's wanting a grand and if I wanted to put that amount out I'd wait for a non-import marked one I could pick up off someone really needing to sell one.

THANKS a lot for all your input I appreciated it.

I got an Inland when they were being imported. $180. The bore is crisp and shiny, walnut stock and handguard were nicely resanded, new trigger group, new M2 bolt, fresh park. Still had an old worn recoil spring. Got a NOS spring at the Big E show. I remember reading reports that barrels were deformed from that bigass Blue Sky stamp.

Yeah, I've read what you and others stated about the B.S. (pardon the play on abbreviations LOL) stamp messing with barrels before. After everything I've read, too many negatives for me to want to mess with it.

Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.

A question for Gunplumber, how far back can the counterbore go? The blue sky I bought way back when has some moderate cleaning rod muzzle wear about the last 3/4" or so, an egg shape is visible if in the right light. Other than that the bore looks pretty good.
