Form 1 time to approval

My LGS will do fingerprints for Form 4s and Form 1s if a "regular". They are getting e-file Form 4s back in 3 to 10 days. About to do four Form 1s as want to unpin the cans on some of my short barrels. Also figure NFA may get an exemption from Cali type "featureless" laws that may go federal. So going to SBR several lowers just to be doing while it's still just $200.

Just got e-mail notification that the 2 F1’s are approved, 24 days from submission. I’m out of town right now, won’t follow up until the weekend. The 9mm AR just needs the brace swapped out, the PPs-43S needs a bit more modification to the folder.

How often do you file? Seems to me more you do faster move through system as all the background stuff is fresh or something.

My second one was in June and was 8 days including the weekend

The Eform1 for the SBR took 57 days from start to finish & I got it back last Wednesday. I bought the can several years ago and it took a few days shy of six months.

Wow!! I just received my approval email. E-filed for my AP5 on 11/23, the day before Thanksgiving so what's that? 8 business days!

I'm impressed.



Now I just need to score one of those A3 stocks when Atlantic gets their next batch.

I can't speak to E-filing but I filed 2 old school paper Form 1's to SBR my CZ Scorpions in middle September and got both of the approved & stamped Form 1's back right at 6 weeks. I Just filed another old school paper Form 1 to SBR an AR15 which they received this past Monday. Will just sit back and wait, not sure what's going to happen to the system if they drop the new proposed "brace rules" on the 28th. I was hoping to get mine in and through the system before they get buried.


*Update* My last old school paper Form 1 for my SBR AR15 came back approved once again right at 6 weeks, even with the holidays. Different examiner than the other 2.

eForm 1 filed 12/20/2022 for suppressor build. Approval came today - 33 days and 3 federal holidays. They are getting better. No pictures, just statement that materials will be purchased after approval. Tried to file electronic prints but kept getting format error. So had them printed and snail mailed them
